Behind the Scenes with She Makes Cents

𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 "𝐬𝐧𝐨𝐰" 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ever since we were blessed with this little lady, all I could talk about was her seeing snow for the first time, which is why she had 2 snowsuits to choose from once the opportunity arrived (𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒊𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚). The Mr. laughed at me every time I would mention it. Then Saturday morning, the Mr. casually called for me to look outside and what I saw looked like we were in the middle of a snowglobe. I grabbed the baby, threw on some clothes, and the three of us 👩🏾👨🏽👼🏽+ our 2 fur babies🐶🐶 played outside for all 5 mins of the snow flurries here in the ATL. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm sure some of my Michigan family thinks our "snow" was ridiculous, but I couldn't think of a better way to start the weekend. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Next year, I think we will take the baby for her first ski/snowboarding trip so she can "pizza" and "french fry" her way down the slopes made from real snow. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 𝑺𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒂 𝒏𝒆𝒘 #𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒇𝒖𝒏𝒅? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These plans are more likely than ever to happen because we have spent the past few years eliminating debt. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yes, I know it is the first #MondayMotiviation of FEBRUARY and I'm coming to the tribe with a 2020 Word of the Year hella late, but if you follow my insta stories you know that I started my New Year on 2/1/2020 because I was not ready a month ago... so here goes...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My power word for 2020 is #𝑫𝑰𝑺𝑪𝑰𝑷𝑳𝑰𝑵𝑬𝑫. By definition, being disciplined is being trained to develop through self-control. The word “disciplined” is one that I will apply to every area of my life in a mental, physical, and spiritual sense. I will take this year as an opportunity to take a disciplined approach to complete the money challenge, hitting my milestones for my long term goals, and setting time aside for self-care. I was inspired by this quote, “You will never ALWAYS be motivated, so you must learn to be DISCIPLINED”. Truth be told, it is easy to be great when you are energized and motivated. The true value of a disciplined mindset reveals itself when you are too tired to keep pushing, when temptation is in the midst, and when distractions are everywhere but you’re strict with your goals and prevail anyway. #NationalPlanAVacation Day⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The goal is to travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us. According to a survey from by the U.S. Travel Association’s Project Time Off, 55% of Americans did not take all of their vacation days leaving approximately 658 million unused vacation days on the table. Taking time for yourself is a very important form of self-care which is why I have created this list of vacation ideas that every millennial woman should strive to take this year. As you sit in cubicle nation or look out of your office window and picture yourself on a sandy beach with a frose’ in hand, just know that this can all be a reality. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Even you don’t get a lot of vacation time (raise your hand if you have been there) you can monopolize on 3 day holiday weekends to make your days stretch.
