She Makes Cents is an online resource created to inform and inspire people on creative ways to save money while creating and maintaining a “fabulous” lifestyle. Founder, Danielle YB Vason,  established She Makes Cents in 2011.  Click here to get to know more about the SHE of She Makes Cents!

3If you’re interested in saving money on the things that make you you, then this is your one stop shop. The team over here at She Makes Cents presents information and inspiration on topics such as career, fashion, lifestyle, and of course finances for the budget-conscious reader. We invite you to join us for our popular recurring series Fix Your Finances, 52 Week Bingo Money Challenge,  and Every Woman Should Know.  Not sure how to begin to save money, make a major purchase on your budget, or get out of debt– learn how we did it and follow us on our journey as we, too, strive to accomplish our financial goals.

2The idea for She Makes Cents came after viewing the MTV documentary, TRUE LIFE: I Can No Longer Afford My Lifestyle.  The documentary followed 20 somethings as they entered the workforce, spent money as if cash flow and job security were permanent things, and hit rock bottom after they were no longer able to afford the lifestyle that their jobs and sometimes upbringing allowed. After witnessing this on-screen and with my peers, I couldn’t help but wonder, if their circumstances could have been changed had different financial choices been made? While the documentary birthed the idea for this site, the transformation from idea to reality came from the result of a series of conversations between friends trying to figure out how I accomplished a certain level of financial empowerment on an almost invisible budget. These conversations eventually led to weekly discussions on subjects such as credit scores, buying property, and eliminating credit card debt. Instead of brainstorming with each other, we here at She Makes Cents decided to invite readers like you into our financial conversations.

inform and inspire ways to use your “cents” to live a fabulous life.
